Matthijs de Ligt moved from Ajax to Juventus in 2019 for £67.5m after impressing with the Spanish club. But with Zebra’s performance below expectations over the past two seasons. There are rumors that De Ligt has the opportunity to leave the Allianz Stadium when his contract expired.

When asked about his future, De Ligt admitted he had not yet made a decision. And he will think of himself first when it comes time to make a decision. That puts his future in Turin in doubt.

“Negotiations are still ongoing. and when the time comes I will decide to renew the contract. or look elsewhere I will look for the best for myself in terms of sport,” De Ligt told Knos.

“Finishing 4th place two times in a row is not enough. We must move in that direction. Because these are disappointing results, Juventus is a club that always wants to win trophies.”

This season, the 22-year-old has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Juve, scoring three goals and helping the team to 16 clean sheets.
